none of those settings seem to becoming active..its ignoring the file apparently unless i have it structured wrong? this is the same on 2 xboxes, 2 different XBMCs both 11-5-06

I'm not trying to, but i will try to be more careful, sorry.
anyway any ideas as to why i still can get NOTHING to load via advancedsettings.xml? its as if it does not recongnize the file. i've tried completely redoing it in note pad, as well as front page.

first be sure to remove the myvideos section from the top. then add 2 to the top of advancedsettings.xml. if you see a freemem counter on screen, the file is being read. if you dont, something is wrong. (but i dont know what yet. everything looks fine.)

It could be that he's using a different profile, though one would presume he would have mentioned that.

actaully my video commands are not grabbing either.
all i want to do is make it so the right or left d-pad arrow jumps like 20 minutes at a time.

I'm following the manual exactly.. the file needs to be: "advancedsettings.xml" in userdata RIGHT?

thanks, but the other stacking command is not grabbing...i also tried adding the reg. expresion versions of the stacking command as well and it did not hold.

You can't add that one. Only those available in the GUI, and those we specify in the manual. Not all of them are doable, as some just don't make sense as they need to be selectable in the GUI.
