I'm a newbie here, just found this amazing site and I'm astonished with the wonderful information everyone provides here.So I thought someone here could help me.
I'm planning a trip to Thailand in the middle of next August and the best rates I found for airfare are with KLM and Lufthansa, Lis-Ams-Bkk or Lis-Fra-Bkk. I searched them in their websites and then booked them with my travel agent but the problem is I have only a few days left to buy them or else the fares will increse. This already happened with a Thai Airways booking I had, it increased a lot.
My travel agent says I have to buy the 3 tickets now if I want that fare.I am afraid the bird flu increases and to buy the 3 tickets with 6 months in advance, it will be about 2.800 euros total.
Is there a way to keep the booking longer and to buy them only 1 or two monthes before the trip with the same fare? Many thanks in advance http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
thank you both for your input.
Actually, the total price of 2.800 euros is for KLM . For Lufthansa the total will be 2675 euros. But I am a FD member so I'm tempted to buy the tickets on KLm to earn miles.
Last year I bought tix to BKK in Feb for Nov travel to lock in fare of $900. I will do the same thing this year. The fare sounds good so I wouldn't worry about it. Have a great time--I can't wait to go back this year! That's a good fare for August. I'd agree with your travel agent and buy the fare now. It won't get any better as you come closer to summer travel time. Enjoy Bangkok!
p.s., I'd buy the Lufthansa ticket. Whether the actual flight is on Thai or Lufthansa you'll have a better experience than on KLM.
Terocas,
Welcome to Flyertalk. You've posted your question in a forum dedicated to mileage only issues, versus general travel issues. If you look at the top of the page you will see an icon for "TravelBuzz". This is the proper home for your queston, so I'll move it there.
Thanks
