A European survey discovered that women collectively had a larger "carbon footprint" than men. Why is this so? I can see the SUV soccer mom spewing out lots of CO2 but what are some of the other factors contributing to gender related gas emissions?

Are you kidding? Back and forth to the gym, the nail salon, the Chestnut Hill Mall, all in their giant SUVs. Then the plumber drives his van over to the house, again it's just him, and not even to fix the plumbing... Then she takes a 45 minute shower and goes to Dellaria's to get her hair done. Then to the elementary school to pick up the kids and take them to a playdate. Then on, with the kids, to Whole Foods to pick up dinner. Women are more (on average ) social too, perhaps, coffees, getting there, ..
"make up" and other "product" use might be significant..
then theres "feminine hygine" products... lots of carbon rich cotton goes into them ( girls i recomend washable alternatives, made from cotton OR rubber- check it!
Even perhaps spending longer in the shower- or indeed doing anything, shopping, socialising etc....
