The Vancouver sun reported yesterday that eff Feb. 1 AC will fly YVR-YXS 6Xdaily. This will be done with DH8 instead of 146. Capacity will be about the same.
Downguaging this route from the 146 has always been unpopular in the past, and a great incentive for PG residents to fly Westjet.
Just another example of how idiotic it was to headquarter Jazz in Halifax. There's no understanding of the Western market. During the BC Ferries strike WS managed to start-up a YVR-YYJ service, Jazz didn't even bother to upguage from a DH1 to DH3.
Too bad. I wonder, though, what the reaction from us would be if they switched to the flying pencil...
