it's easier for foreigners to get government or federal loans - that's why our economy is dieing - we need to spend money here at home - on our citizens!
I'm not answering specifically for the blacks..but many people leave their home country for a chance at a better life. They already know what they want and when they get to America..they have a real shot at getting there dreams because they've overcome so much already.

African-Americans have the legacy of slavery to live with. They've done their best to separate themselves from the whole of American society because of that sense of being second class. (Which is why they began to make Americans call them "African-Americans" - they reject what makes a person an American.) If you don't follow the "rules" of getting ahead, you won't get ahead. And wouldn't you be prejudiced against a culture or society you are told brought you down and is keeping you down? They see every White person as if we are out to get them. That we are always prejudiced against them; always ready to blame them for things they didn't do. How can any race, culture, human being thrive while in constant fear of that kind of prejudice?

African emigres have the same work ethic that other immigrants from different countries have. They don't have the history of slavery to lean on, so they are not even aware of the strain that is caused between whites and Blacks. They just do their job or get their education and that's how you move up in this country. They don't spend their Sundays at church talking about The Man and how much The Man has done to hold them back. So they don't get held back.
Blacks from outside the country dont wallow in self pity and blame everyone around them for their troubles. American blacks, not all of them but a large majority, play the victim role instead of standing up and moving on.
Because the Man hasn't had the chance to sabotage them yet?
Foreigners -- black, white, Asian, whatever -- that immigrate legally to America often end up owning businesses because:
1. Emigrants these days are not the "wretched refuse." They are highly motivated people, ambitious and courageous enough to take chances. After all, they've packed up and left a place they've lived all their lives to come to a new country, and that takes a lot of daring. It's the sort of daring that one needs to open a business and make it work. We native born Americans too often are just too comfortable in our native-born lifestyles to be willing to take those sorts of risks.
2. Emigrants are willing to work HARD. Very few professions in this country, with our 40-hour work weeks, know what real HARD work is. Emigrants work 80, 120 and more hours per week, which is the sort of thing most business owners must do, at least at the start.
3. Emigrants have a greater tendency to save. They had to save to get here and its a habit they continue to have. Being able to save helps you start a business.
4. Emigrants sometimes have market advantages. They sometimes create excellent niche businesses that cater to fellow emigrants from their old country, which native-born Americans sometimes find difficult to tap into.
There are many other reasons, some involving tax breaks and the like, but I think it mostly comes down to the fact that immigrants are usually very motivated and ambitious. AmericanHeritage.com / THE COUNTRY CLUB::

This is true. I think it's because American blacks have a different mentality because of their history in this country that other black people from other countries do not.
I dont think it is blacks , I heard but I dont know for fact.When immigrants come here they have a chance to get grants and loans to help start their new life here in America. I cant say for sure though. I think those of us born here should also get the same,regardless of credit and jobs. We have to prove ourselves,they dont. Ambition. People willing to leave their country, a very high risk move, seeking a better life, have tons of this.
One reason could be that our goverment is much more generous to immigrants with loans to start businesses than they are with their own American people. Another could be that most Americans (not just black ones) are lazy and expect they are owed something and won't work for it.
I don't think it has anything to do with race. I suspect it has more to do with their drive and ambition once they get here. They probably owned some sort of business in their previous country, it's what they know how to do.
I think the comments about American blacks thinking the government has to take care of them is stereotyping. Americans of all races have been raised in an economic model largely based on factory/manufacturing jobs. We either go to work directly for a company as soon as we are able - e.g. auto workers, steel plants etc.. or we go to college and end up working in a management position with the same type of company. Our mentality is there will be a big corporation to work for, somebody to take care of me.
In Haiti - that type of economy doesn't exist. If you want to support your family above the poverty level your best bet is to operate some sort of business. When they come to America, they are just doing what they know.
Granted, there are other professions, but manufacturing jobs have always been a major employer of middle class Americans. It's harder to a non-American to get those jobs unless they possess some special skill.

I'd say it's probably because they are ambitious, which is what motivated them to move to the US in the first place.
Because they strive harder,and where they came from,most likely it's third world country,so they are money oriented like most foreigners!
Do you know how generous America is to foreigners in new jersey(i am not sure about other states, i think it's all over)
they get a break from paying taxes for seven years...they would not do that for anyone born here....ironic.....
I am black and I have my own business, I do not take handouts and while I am definitely aware of my heritage I do not use it as a crutch...
Not just black immigrants. Most immigrants.
For many, ( i notice this with Greeks and Eastern Europeans I've met ) they don't even come here until the works for a business (or at least a job) have already been set up. They come here with a plan, a drive, and a bit of research.
Self sufficiency and determination are key ingredients in owning a business. Henry Ford became successful compared to other automotive manufacturers of his day. Not just cuz the assembly line, but because all of his products were built by him. Ford even owned the farms and plantations for the wood, rubber, and lacquer in the cars. The less you depend on others, the more options you have to move forward.
Black Immigrants have a strong drive to succeed, enough to make them move thousands of miles for opportunity.
Most non-successful people in America wouldn't move 2 miles for better opportunity.When you are already here, you don't realize how easy it is to succeed. You just give up and blame it on everyone else.
because they are probably coming to America to get that "American Dream". Having a better life, success, house with a white picket fence, 2.1 kids. etc. They have ambition, and are more willing to invest time in money to be successful.

Probably more blacks are looking forward to owning a business, more than any other cultures that leave in America.
When you arrive in a country, you may have a plan already for success. If I up and leave the US right now for a foreign land: I will have a plan. If you were to look around the mother countries of some of America's immigrants, you will find people who are similarly situated with Black Americans (disenfranchised and unmotivated)(too often).

They aren't limited by the culture of American Blacks. They aren't caught up in letting the government take care of them. They know the way to get ahead is to work hard act responsible. America is the best country in the world for success. Yet many who live here cannot see this.
It's a free country and if you come to this country with the goal to contribute and to make it, you will. On the same note if you whine and ask for hand outs you will get that too.
It's all in the attitude.
perhaps it's because they're more motivated than blacks born in america...when people choose to inmigrate to the usa, they usually do so expecting to fulfill the american dream, and they work very hard during their first years, unlike some native americans who have lost hope in rising in the social scale.
