Unlike the other negatives, it is important to remember that our national security is tied to many of the major things we need to do right here. And that is energy independence, education, and country investment. Energy policy is important because it has the widest reach. Everything we plan to do in the future has to do with whether or not we depend on foreign oil for our abilities. If we do not, no other country will have the power to hurt American pocket books nor come from a strong position in energy at all. Second education is important because we are at an average place for our country size in education. We need to be one of the tops in order to actively secure our future in our children. They will run this country after we are gone so they need the skills and must be prepared to handle a new century. Third, investment in our own country allows us to grow jobs and the domestic side of the coin. And if the government has to spend less that is great for the deficet which has reached more than we really want it to be.
