I rented a car for 4 days from Avis over Memorial Day and used 6 50% UA car certs to get 3 free days. I paid about $80 and gave them my AA #. I called today wondering why I still had not received credit and was told no airline miles are given if UA 50% car certs are used.
The rules under "MILES" on the back of the cert do say "Mileage plus miles are not earned when using certificate."
However, I am trying to earn AA miles and I paid for one of the 4 days.

The "angel" told me that Avis would not give mileage credit because the "code" on the free day certificates negates any mileage credit. I asked "Does that mean I could rent a car for 1 month, turn in 6 certs for 3 free days, pay for the 27 others a get no credit?" She said, "Yes."
