If so what are the odds of becoming successful working as a Financial Representative for Northwestern Mutual
I know people who do this sort of work; however, part of the money your clients will pay in will go to the insurance company as a fee and you will be paid out of that.
This sort of work depends a lot on your personality, how good you are at convincing people of the value of your product, how well you keep your clients, how much effort you put into it. You will have to be available to do business day and night and go to people's homes and work.
I don't know anything about how well you might do at that particular company. You should research them with your state's licensing bureau and see what their complaint rate is. You should examine carefully all the paperwork to be sure your clients will do well with any product you sell them and understand something about the financial market and investments so you are sure you are doing an up-front job.
Yes, you are an insurance salesman. I invested in that sort of product for years although I knew I could do better in the general market; however, my money was safe and earned enough interest to satisfy me and I trusted the salesman (many people I knew had worked with him and done OK) and am very conservative with money.
You need to talk to someone who does this and find out all the pitfalls and benefits.
You might have someone come out and see how they try to sell your their product to get a feeling for how they do business.
