builder/investor. I told the investor about my wife who is a real
estate broker. The investor inquired about my wife?s status as a
commercial real estate broker. My wife is new to the commercial side.
We now have a lunch meeting with the investor on 8/29/06 with my wife
and her two partners. My wife's two partners know a lot more than we
do. So, what are some good questions my wife should ask and some good
comment she could make? Or how can we impress the investor?
Hi, this is a free comment, not an "answer", which only an official

I would let the savvy partners do the talking, with your wife nodding wisely.
If the investor asks about her experience, let her be honest rather
than possibly appear foolish or sophomoric. That won't help win a
contract for her, and maybe lessen the chance of the partners getting
it. A wealthy investor is going to want the best person at the table
to handle his work, and the three partners should be in agreement that
this is best for the partnership. IMHO Bahai Faith | Baha'i Faith | United States Official Website:: Official web site of the Baha'is of the United States of America. http://www.bahai.us/HOME |
I agree with the previous comment of not overstating your
qualifications because you can cost the potential client a lot of
money AND look foolish doing it. That said, I have seen many
instances of wealthy investors choosing to work with comparative
novice because they trust that person to tell them the truth.
In turn, you might consider contacting a more senior person in
commercial real estate and partner with him/her. That way you can be
the bridge between competent help and the client. At the end of the
day, commercial real estate brokers should be providing the best
service possible for their clients.
Hope this helps. Slony-I:: A master to multiple slaves replication system supporting cascading and failover [Berkely/BSD]. http://www.slony.info/HOME |
