I can never get the lowest published fares for any airline to price on Expedia. Usually one of two things happens.

Scenario 1: I pick a date and get "sorry, no seats are available at this fare." I must then play a ridiculous guessing game in which I try to divine when the seats are available, if at all. I mean, yes, Expedia's application will check the entire week if there are no seats on the day I pick, but I often end up guessing week after week for several months and getting the same message each time.

Scenario 2: I pick a date for the outbound flight, then after supposedly verifying availability Expedia prompts me to pick a date for the return. The screen I get shows my selected outbound date with a circle, leading me to believe the system found available seats. So I pick a return date, then after supposedly verifying availability again, I am prompted to pick my flights. Invariably the price Expedia displays (they give an estimate of the total cost next to each flight option) is substantially higher than the fare I chose, and comes with the message "We were unable to use the original fare code." I would chalk this up to experience - after all, someone could have booked the last seats while I was viewing the page - if it hadn't happened to me dozens of times. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/mad.gif
That sounds like the BA fare -- only good on Mon-Wed or something. Peak dates are still pricing out very good -- I'm getting Fri-Sun weekenders on AA for $345.
