If you want to wear a skirt or a hat made of fruit or MC Hammer dance pants in Oslo in January, just do it and don't worry about what people are thinking.

I'd like to wear one of those things that's shaped like a giant "U" (don't know what they're called) to hold my bangs back so that I don't have to wear a hat, but I don't because people would think it was wierd. Maybe I should anyways. I'm in a band, I can pull off being strange.

  • Here where I live (north part of the netherlands) it was kind of a trend for guys to wear them, didn't last long though...
for some it looked really stupid, but for others it looked extremely cool, depends on the person...

  • Ok! Guess ya know what you're on about :-)

  • At first, it was difficult to give up carrying a wallet. I finally convinced myself that I really didn't need to carry on a daily basis, punch cards for record stores in cities where I didn't live, department store cards for stores where I might go once a year, a card reminding me of the combination to the lock on my gym locker that I use almost every day, my PADI certification card that I seldom use anymore at all, and notes that I wrote to myself and never read again, not to mention various pieces of paper with faded ink and so fused together and fossilized from repeated exposure to butt sweat that I have no idea what it ever was to begin with.

  • I thought most guys kept it in their right back pocket, so I find it interesting that you don't. I also keep mine in my left back pocket, by the way.

  • no no, of my left buttcheek. who keeps their wallet in their front pocket? :p

  • i cant survive without my pockets, i wont even buy a pair of pants if it has bad pockets. guys dont have to carry around all the things girls do in their handbags, makeup and what have you. as for me, in the style of pants i wear my wallet sits just below my bum so i dont ever really sit on it and any theif would have to get a good handful before he found the wallet. :phandfull of peanuts??? hehehe...just couldn't resist haha
    :p

  • they wear kilts in scotland....there you go....

  • Come mon, focus on the topic on men in skirts. You guys and gals are deviating from the Poll topic!

  • I think he means those you wear to push back your hair. It's kind of like a bent comb.. Heh.. You put it on and thread and the things push your hair back.. I'm not even sure they have a name though.. Heh..
I don't know if this has a name in english, but in France it is called a "Serre-tête "

  • Now I know where all your wallets are when I hunt you don't and pickpocket you. :-) Cha Ching $$$.

  • I have now split this discussion to make it a new thread.

I think the thing I'm thinking of has no name in English. :(It's like a head band, but different. A head band goes over your forehead, but the thing I'm thinking of goes over the top of your head.

  • I'm not a lefty at all, so that blows it out of the water even more. :-):p

  • Maybe if guys wore jeans as tight as girls do they'd reach for their handbags, too... :p

  • I always keep my wallet in my front right pocket (I'm a righty). I never understood the back pocket thing. Sit on your wallet? Easily stolen (unless jeisan's buttcheek is guarding it)? Even if I was asleep, there's no way anyone could ever get my wallet without me noticing. If my pants are tight, it's even kind of hard for me to get it out (don't quote me out of context here :D ).

  • Hey Bob. I don't carry a wallet either. It's just cause mine's too big though, I find it uncomfortable to carry in my pockets, I just fold up notes and put them in my little change purse. If i want to take some cards, i just slip them in my pockets no probs. But you know, whatever works. You can get really small wallets which just have room for folded money and a couple of cards. Nice and flat. :-)

  • I already have too much stuff in my front pockets. :p

  • Perhaps I'm odd, but I've always carried my wallet in my right FRONT pocket. I've always been afraid of keeping it in either back pocket for fear of being pickpocketed. I feel safer that way, but that's just me!

    :-)

  • I have a friend who wears a headband and he's a guy. Actually, I had bought the exactly same headband, too, but I never worn it ^^; And when he's durnk, he asks everyone if they have kohl or eyeshadow... heh. He's a fun guy :) He doesn't look really fenimine, though - just really cute. I think guys can wear accessories if it suits them, why not?

    By the way, how do guys survive without a handbag? How cna you stuff all your things into your pockets? To me keeping your wallet in your back pocket just screams "Please steal my wallet, you know you want to!" ^^; And all your stuff gets bent and sitting is a pain in the..hm.. well, you know where ^^;

  • My wallet sits to my side when I'm sitting, so I don't sit on it. I suppose not having one would force (or maybe allow) me to not carry all of the stuff that I have in there now (there certainly is a lot of useless stuff), but it would be hard for me to give it up. I guess I'm just too used to it now. I must admit that I never considered the pros and cons of having a wallet this much before. I had always just figuered that it was convenient for holding money and ID cards, and didn't give much more thought to it than that.

  • they're called headbands, or hairbands.

id say go for it brooker, only one youd have to worry about is you or maybe your girlfriend complaining about it lol

  • U thing? like a headband?

  • Uh, back to the idea of wearing a skirt....

Try a kilt. There are manufacturers that make kilts from more than just tartan styles, and with great pockets.

Why do ye wanna wear a skirt, anyway? Scottish are ye, laddie?

  • an alice band, is the u thing an alice band?

  • My Chiropractor tells me that it is a bad idea to sit on a wallet, so not only have I quit carrying a wallet in a back pocket, I have stopped carrying a wallet altogether. For many years now, I have carried my folding money, pittance though it may be, along with driver's license, and a credit card or two bound with a clip in a front pocket. I have had fewer instances of low back pain since I started doing this, and I tend to carry a lot less useless crap than I did when I carried a wallet.

  • I have my wallet either in my front coat pocket or in either of my front trouser pockets, depending on what I'm wearing. If that makes any sense at all. :p

  • I think he means those you wear to push back your hair. It's kind of like a bent comb.. Heh.. You put it on and thread and the things push your hair back.. I'm not even sure they have a name though.. Heh..

Yeah, that sounds like what I was thinking of. They're usually really thin. I tried one on and I thought it made my hair look pretty cool. Don't know if anyone else would think so though.

  • Brooker, so it voice down to the basic thing, that is, people are not used to seeing things that are not normal. Men wearing skirts are considered as not normal.....

  • LOL Bonita, my wife has numerous little change purses for easily carrying money, cards, etc. When I first gave up carrying a wallet, I used a nice money clip, but it too was rather cumbersome, and it soon broke. I was at work when it broke, and did not have time to leave to go buy another money clip, so I looked in my desk and found a document clip (http://www.gaylordmart.com/adblock.asp?abid=2079&dm=28584&src=gbhome&source=froogle), which worked much better than any money clip, and you can buy a whole box of them for about $3 US.

  • lol like i said before i dont sit on mine either, it rests under my leg or off to the side. i have alot of things in the front as well as the other back for various papers and hair ties.

  • maybe you are left-handed?
thats what i always thought about it anyway, like whatever handed you are then thats the pocket. but then i blow my own theory out of the water since im only partly a lefty.

  • Brooker, can I know what is that U-thing? Perhaps you might want to ake a picture and post it here? Thank you.

  • You aren't alone. (http://www.jref.com/forum/showthread.php?p=151582&postcount=22) :p

haha, I want to wear womens hair clips because I have long bangs as well but then I might get herassed or something. davey

by the way those headbands are tits up, i want to get one.

  • Yup, that's them. Thanks jeisan! *awards rep points* I like the simple ones like the second one down in the right column. That way you can't really see them, especially if I wear a dark one with my dark hair, but they just pull your hair back in a cool way. Maybe I'll wear one next time I play a concert. Musicians are expected to do such strange things.

  • Ah, but I gave three options, so you'll really have to feel me up before you get the right one...although you have a one in three chance...so tell me, do ya feel lucky, punk?

  • Heres my question?
Why would someone get bored with doing IT for 10 years?
