i know i am gonna catch ALOT of s**t for asking this question!!! has anyone ever heard of rubbing whiskey on a baby's gums to help sooth the teething pains?? i'm not talking a shot of the stuff or anything, just a bit on the finger to help numb her gums?
But oraJel can be bad too.

Tylenol is bad too. It can cause asthma and lower your kids IQ. Just think how the hell we all made it out alive before tylenol and freaking orajel. I don't use any of the stuff.
sadly yea but it dont work give them ice lolly or if they use pacifier but it in the freezer to freeze a while then give them to bite on and it will ease them a whole lot...... baby.com | Your Baby:: Find helpful information about the development of your baby. Most of our grandparents did it to our parents. But we know more now and understand the risks this could pose. Buy orajel. It numbs the gums and won't get your kid drunk.
Lol isn't it funny how ppl are so quick to judge? Makes me wonder how many of them tried this but are ashamed to admit in fear of getting that OMG face. Anyway I tried it with my first daughter and it didn't seem to work, you're better off getting orajel and teething toys (none of my kids were big on teething toys though so buy one and test it out first so you don't end up wasting money). If you dont have any baby orajel and happen to have some whisley on hand go ahead and try it out, you wont be giving them enough alcohol to get them drunk. my mom said she used to rub southern comfort on my gums for my baby though i use teething tablets and cold rings
yes i have heard of this and i don't think it can hurt anything as long as you don't over do it and with moderation. those teething gels don't work! you probably don't want to rub alcohol on the gums it might burn and i'm sure it taste awful for the baby. good luck to you.
Yes, i have heard that from a lot of people actually. Never did it, but definitely heard of it. I'm really not sure if it would hurt the baby or not.
Try teething tablets you can buy them at wal-mart or Walgreen's or somewhere else like those stores Its not good to rub whiskey on the babies gums Ive used teething tablets will all three of my kids Its always worked great or run cold water on a wash clothe and put it in the freezer for a few minutes and let it get really cold they can chew on it and the cold helps or buy sugar free popsicles and the cold from them will numb it really good Teething by Baby Weekly:: A babys first tooth is an exciting milestone for his or her Please e-mail any questions regarding our site to: Copyright © 2000 - 2009 ParentingWeekly(TM) http://www.parentingweekly.com/baby/baby_information/teeth69923&wz=23&dz=10/14/2008HOME |
heard of it, but i have found other things that work and i have a very young teether....it may work, may not hurt, but i don't know bc it is discouraged now...what works for us is tylenol, motrin if it is horrible , and until the meds kick in a mesh feeder --sassy, munchkin, and some body else makes them; i got mine at food lion but iknow babies r us has them and i think walmart; i freeze small cubes of apple juice, crush ice and mix it together, give it to her a min, and rest a min so it doesn't get too cold; usually after two times of filling it, she's chilled out and waiting on the med....here's a link to see what i am talking about....they can also be used later for fruit etc...
she's still too young for oragel...:(

this is basically the same as mine except it has a lid which we don't need yet but u get the idea
I am sure it does work, that's why they did it. It probably also put us to sleep... try the baby orajel it seems to help.
Definitely heard of it. I think it was much more common back in the day... seems they didn't take as many precautions as we do these days. I'd stay away from the hard liquor and stick with Orajel and Tylenol.
Heres my question?
Why would someone get bored with doing IT for 10 years?
