WON Institute - WON Buddhist Journal:: Won Buddhism in the U.S.: Issues and Visions for the Future resulted from a conference held at the Won Institute in the fall of 2003 where Won Buddhist http://www.woninstitute.edu/index.php?page=won-buddhist-journalHOME | Two Sundays ago, the gay rights group Bash Back, rudely disturbed the Sunday service at Mount Hope Church in Lansing, MI.

Other than some local coverage and a blurp on Fox News, none of the other major media outlets seemed to have picked it up. Why is this? Wouldn't one think that such an event is good business? I mean, isn't this a gay rights group exercising their freedom of expression? Isn't this progressive? Or, do we only make the news when a Christian group protests within a gay meeting? Gays protesting within a Christian Sunday service is okay. Do not show. We don't to make the gay community mad at us. Christians disturbing a gay meeting, however, we must show. We must expose the bigotry within the Christian community. After all, we are in the business of creating news, not reporting it. Never mind that such actions by either group is illegal. Shame on the media!
Much would depend on the scale of the demonstration. A large demonstration or one at an event that is already in the public eye is more likely to be reported. The other thing you should be aware of is that for the likes of FOX media to cover such an event they need to be aware of it often in advance, and you don't want to be competing with other news events.
There are non profit organizations out there that can help you with any planned demonstrations or "media terrorism".
As far as they are concerned if they don't cover it, it didn't happen. Their purpose is to promote a liberal agenda, not cover the news
it was an uncalled for action. protesting should only be in public areas, which inside a church building is not. it is a shame when people go this far to support a cause, because they make people think badly of EVERYONE that is gay or supports gay marriage. i hope you realize that it is only a very small minority of gay people who act like this. True Parents' History for Children:: Won Pil Kim sat at the long steel table in the army mess hall finishing off a plate of potatoes and ham. It was a feast; but American food was so different http://www.tparents.org/Library/Unification/Publications/tphc/TPHC-19.htmHOME |
Since when is protesting illegal?
I agree with you though, but for other reasons. I would be out there with the gay protesters if I lived in CA b/c I think that the Christian church has no right to legislate their backwards views on whats right or wrong.
Heres my question?
Why would someone get bored with doing IT for 10 years?
