My wife and I have been doing IT for 20 years and we're never bored.
When you work in any field and was exposed to it in 10 years there is nothing anymore you can learn or anything that will excite you. This is true not only in IT but in any job as well. Ten years is the maximum you can tolerate any boring job. Unless you get promoted every year which never happens.
