I am looking to head to Spain this summer and will be leaving from YEG.
Now I know that AC has a direct flight again from YEG-LHR.
My question is that on their website it shows the plane as being a 763.
It doesn't show the pretty red star to indicate the updated/upgraded interior.
I have tried without success to inquire with AC if this plane has individual TV's and the other creature comforts of the updated planes.
Has anyone taken this flight or know anyone who has or have knowledge of what the cabin interior is on this plane? I am looking to book it Latitude plus and upgrade with the blue system wide certs, thats a whole different matter if I've read those right and can use them.
Thanks for you reading and input.
Keep in mind, there is no *A connection from LHR-MAD. I went YEG-LHR-MAD with the last leg on Iberia (or BA depending on your connection time). 4 STAR French Quarter Mystery Hotel - New Orleans:: Book 4 STAR French Quarter Mystery Hotel Online or Call Toll Free: 1 (888) 782-9722. I have had an XM on my last 2 of 3 legs YEG-LHR or vice versa.
Personally, I love the evening departure for a long haul rather than a morning departure to get to YYZ to catch the YYZ-MAD flight.
Fly YEG first!! :)
Yeah I'd much rather fly direct to LHR and worry about getting to Spain from there. My final destination is actually MJV. So I'd be looking to get there from LHR or LGW. It looks like LGW has much better direct flight options.
So i'm just looking at how to best maximize my AC options YEG-LHR, or YEG/YYZ/YYC-LHR combo... or YEG-YYZ-MAD then on from there... argh makes it so complicated. So on your YEG-LHR the executive cabin was a newer style though? That is my main concern I must say. I've flown a few routes lately and when you get off the jetway onto the plane and tada it's an old clunker. Luckily mine have been short YUL-YYZ or YYZ-YUL, So for an hour or less you can put up with it. But over seas and using up certs for it. No thanks.

IF there is no red star, there is no guarantee you'll get a refurbished B767...there are still 4 in the fleet that have not been converted.
IF you're flying to MAD, how about YEG-YYZ-MAD? The YYZ-MAD flights are on the refurbished aircraft.
YEG/LHR is scheduled with the new J cabin this summer.
Just looking into Nov/Dec/Jan sked and it appears as though at least one of these non-XMd 763s will be dedicated to YYZ-BOG and YYZ-LIM. :(
While it may be nice to see the dreaded 762s gone, LIM is a looong flight (at almost 8 hours - longer than YYZ-LHR or YUL-CDG) and it surprises me that a better aircraft is not assigned to a well-performing route.
The last int'l destined 763 is in the shop and the remaining 3 will be retired at some point and are intended mainly for domestic use (HNL has 2 in the winter and I think the Caribbean might use the third for some routes. So your chance of getting a non-podded 763 is very low (mechanical failure situation) I know BOG is getting a 763 for 3 flights per week, so they might alternate between BOG and some other destination that warrants a 763 or use it for YVR-YYZ to swap the HNL planes.
Thank god YEG-LHR is an XMd 763 because the last time I flew YYC-YEG-LHR the 1-2-2 cabin was nasty! Seat was dirty, green (:p) and falling apart and the table tray would not go across the width of the seat so the meal almost slid to the right and into my lap and the aisle.
BOG is one of the routes needing the 763 upgrade as you mentioned but the other one is LIM. The nicest part of those old 762s is the bathroom and no, I am not kidding. AC should be embarrased to send those things representing our great country. You know its bad when AeroCondor 737-200s start to look in better shape than an AC aircraft. ;)
