  • I booked my friend on Saturday July 2nd DEL-YYZ flight and is now cancelled. The only options they gave her is now either a Friday or Monday flight. She asked about putting her on another airline and AC said that's not an option.

    I really thought AC is technically liable to transport her on the day she had originally booked. So my friend very reluctantly picked the Monday flight. I check her PNR online and she is now booked in P class. I didn't know AC offers Tango fare on international flights? Does this booking class still earn miles? For reference, she was originally booked in Q class.

    Is this route in danger of being cancelled?

    Absolutely not as far as I know; the summer is low season for that market and picks up greatly in the fall and flts are mostly full through the spring. It's just a seasonal thing.

    the 345 is used exclusively in the YYZ-HKG flights for the summer season, as the daily schedule requires both aircraft be utilized for this route. It only opperated on the DEL route when the HKG run was down to 5x weekly. (ie 2/3 days weekly the DEL would be a 345) The Delhi will remain a 343 during the summer season.

    Is there any information out there on the frequency of Air India's flights to Canada this summer, and the type of plane (with seating capacity etc) that will be part of these new flights. With the new seats introduced on this route by Air India, even with the reduction in flights by Air Canada, I wonder how many more (net) seats in total will be available (on a weekly basis) during the summer months?

    Because the only aircraft that can do the flight in ACs fleet right now is the A345 which is (as we all know) already pre occupied with YYZ-HKG. I understand there are also restrictions in the current bilateral which limits the number of seats on a weekly basis.
